One syllable verb with Consonant + Vowel + Consonant Double the LAST Consonant and add ED EXCEPTION: verbs ending in X or W, add ED | stop plan rob mix fix sew row | stopped planned robbed mixed fixed sewed rowed |
Two syllable verbs with stress on the last syllable Double the LAST Consonant and add ED | occur admit | occurred admitted |
Verbs ending in C, add K and ED | mimic picnic panic | mimicked picnicked panicked |
